Assam is planning to double its solid waste management (SWM) treatment capacity by 2026, owing to rapid growth in waste generation. Assam, the DPR (detailed project report) is ready for 42 Urban Local Bodies (ULB) to establish new SWM treatment plants at the cost of Rs 64.37 crore, with a capacity of 527 tonnes per day (TPD).
