Suburban railway project in the city of Bengaluru is in limbo as the SPV is not yet formed to execute the project. It is learnt from media reports that the Department of Urban Land Transportation has sent the SPV proposal to the railway board. After consultation the SPV would be formed. The SPV would implement Rs 11,000 crore suburban rail project in the city. The suburban rail policy recommends 20% of the project cost to be borne by the state government, 20 per cent by the railways and rest 60 per cent will be raised through debt.
