As a step forward towards the implementation of the 508-km Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Railway Project, on 21st December 2016, the Indian Railways, National High Speed Rail Corporation and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have signed a tripartite agreement for General Consultancy. JICA has agreed to bear the cost of general consultancy. The overall project is estimated to cost Rs 97636 crore and targeted to complete by 2023. JICA has offered to provide assistance of more than Rs 79000 crore for this project. *Image used is for illustration only.
