J B Ravinder, Joint Adviser, Central Public Health and Environment Engineering Organisation, Ministry of Urban Development has recently said that there are seven Waste-to-Energy plants in Delhi (3), one each in Pune, Jabalpur, Nagpur and Solapur in the state of Maharashtra. The Government of Karnataka is working on setting up a similar plant in Bidadi with utilisation of piped gas from Dabhol to generate electricity out of waste.
