WA solid-waste management plant has commenced operations in Saligao, a town located in North Goa. The plant has started recycling 100 tons of garbage daily recently. Hindustan Waste Treatment Pvt Ltd (HWTPL) and has attained the desired capacity of 100 tons a day. The plant also generates 4 MW of electricity.
