Birla Shakti Concrete, a division of Vasavadatta Cement and Kesoram Industries, the flagship company of BK Birla group of companies recently showcased its largest Ready Mix Concrete and Aggregate production plant in India. The factory is located in Pune spread over 25,000 sq mt. The plant produces the complete range of market-leading, high performance concrete mixes from M7.5 to M110 grades (including M10 pumpable concrete).
The production facility boasts of a fully automated & computer-aided design manufacturing facility including Putzmeister Truck mounted Moli Pumps, Putzmeister Boom Placer, a state of the art concrete testing lab, and Water Recycling plant. Single largest fleet of Liebherr Transit Mixers mounted on AMW vehicles, complete with GPS tracking systems, ensures prompt & timely delivery. The plant is designed to meet stringent IS Code specifications & new-age construction applications including custom light weight architectural and structural precast concrete. The plant operates under most stringent, self-imposed quality control regimen in the industry and is acknowledged as the market leader for on-time delivery & commitment to excellence, strength and durability.
The company started operations in 2013 with an annual production capacity of 4.5 lac cubic meters and today has a total installed capacity of producing 6.5 lac cubic metres of ready-mixed concrete.
It is the first plant in India to offer customers a mobile application for placing orders.
The company partners an extensive array of clients including real estate conglomerates, design-build firms and construction professionals in Pune like Sobha Developers, Kumar properties, Kolte Patil Real Estate, NCC Ltd., Goel Ganga, Karia Realty, Suyogdham Infrastructures LLP. The product portfolio spans a wide range of concrete mixes including self-consolidating concrete (SCC), Water Proof concrete, Aluform shuttering concrete etc to cater to a wide range of applications including residential and commercial projects.
The onsite research & testing laboratory and demonstration facility not only develops concrete, meeting specific type of application and jobsite requirements, but also schedules regular training workshops to educate customers, contractors, distributors, and all other industry partners on the developments in the concrete production.
According to Cement Vision 2025, a Confederation of Indian Industry-AT Kearney report released on 30 April 2014, RMC accounts for 8% of overall cement demand in India. This share is expected to increase up to 25% by 2025.
