The Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Prof. Sanwar Lal Jat has informed the Lok Sabha recently about the River Front Development (RFD) Projects. These projects help in containing the Liquid & Solid waste pollution in places where large congregation of public takes place, generally on the banks of the river for religious and tourism purposes. At the same time, these projects help to facilitate public conveniences such as changing rooms, toilets, sitting area, etc. apart from general beautification of the area. The RFD project proposals received by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) are at various stages of appraisal. Under the Cabinet approved Namami Gange programme, Rs. 250 crore have been earmarked for various RFD projects, which are expected to be completed by 2020. National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has received a number of proposals for River Front Development (RFD), the State-wise details are given below:-
