DGH Approves Investments Worth $4.8 Billion
The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) has given investment approvals worth nearly $4.8 billion (Rs. 36,000 crore) for upstream oil and gas activities in India. Among the large investment proposals given approval are ‘work-plan budgets’ of projects in the Krishna-Godavari Basin, including projects of ONGC and Reliance Industries Ltd.
Andhra Pradesh Govt Releases Rs 1,962 Crore For Polavaram Project
The state government has released Rs 1,962 crore for dam related works and rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced families. Of the total sum released, over Rs. 1,252 crore would be utilised on the Polavaram main dam and related works.
MNRE plans to set up RE Equipment Manufacturing Parks in India
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has written to various state governments and various port authorities to identify land parcels of 50-500 acres for setting up renewable energy equipment manufacturing parks to meet both domestic and global demand for silicon ingots and wafers, solar and wind power equipment and ancillary items.
Green Nod To Rs 922 Crore New Parliament Complex
Construction of the controversial new parliament building at a cost of Rs. 922 crore has been cleared by the Environment Ministry’s Expert Appraisal Committee, with the usual caveats on minimal tree cutting, environmental responsibility and so on, even as a Special Leave Petition on the issue is pending before the Supreme Court.
