The newly-constructed Pizhala-Moolampilly bridge is set to be thrown open to the public. The 607m-long bridge connects Moolampilly on the ICCT Road with Pizhala and Cheriya Kadamakkudy. The total cost of construction is around Rs. 81.75 crore.

Plans to take up Vizhinjam international seaport and transhipment container terminal project in the public-private partnership mode. APSEZ has emerged as the sole bidder. The port project will be granted a viability gap funding (VGF). The completion is targeted in 2019.

The construction work of the proposed government medical college in Wayanad will begin in December. 50-acres identified at Chelod Estate near Vythiri for the medical college. the land acquisition would be completed by mid-November. The state government has already given administrative sanction for the project estimated at Rs 615 crore and funds will be made available through KIIFB after the DPR is approved.
