The Uttar Pradesh government announced that the state will soon have over 20 operationalised airports including five international airports. Presently nine airports are functional in the state and air service is available for 80 destinations

The Uttar Pradesh government has given in-principle approval for 17 proposed feeder-bus routes from Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) stations in Ghaziabad. Officials of the regional transport department said they will now take up the proposal and start the routes before the 17 km RRTS section becomes operational in March.

The officials of Uttar Pradesh government signed an agreement with officials of Austin University to build a ‘smart city of knowledge’ project in the state for an investment amounting to $ 42 billion. The investment will be made in installments and the first installment of $ 7 billion will be released and then, the rest will be increased accordingly

The Uttar Pradesh government has claimed that the team of ministers and officials, who are holding road shows and meeting industrial groups in foreign lands, are successfully attracting investors as there is likely to be a Rs 15,000 crore inflow of foreign funds. The UP government received significant investment from Sweden.

The Uttar Pradesh government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with hypermarket and retail giant Lulu Group to set up six shopping malls and one hotel in the state. As per the MoU, Lulu will set up shopping malls and hypermarkets in Noida, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Kanpur, and Prayagraj with a total investment of Rs 4,500 crore.

The Uttar Pradesh government has inked pact with at least 34 foreign companies for investments largely in five sectors, including textiles, IT & electronics and pharma.

The Uttar Pradesh government outlined its plans for energy transition in the state, which will include building on existing renewable energy through bio fuel as well as solar energy. The state had recently announced a bio-fuel policy and a new solar energy policy is also in the pipeline.

The Uttar Pradesh government signed 13 MoU with various companies which are likely to invest Rs 564 crore in the state. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) signed the pact and the investment will be made in the UP Defence Industrial Corridor.

The Uttar Pradesh government, through its investment promotion agency Invest UP, has been successful in attracting beverages industrial units in Gorakhpur, Amethi, Prayagraj and Chitrakoot.
