The Karnataka government has approved 48 industrial projects worth Rs 2,062 crore that would provide jobs for over 6,393 people in the state. The clearance for the projects was given at the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) meeting chaired by Large and Medium Scale Industries Minister.

The State Government of Karnataka gave its approval to the ropeway project at Nandi hills worth Rs 93.40 crore under a public private participation (PPP) model. Nandi hills, a well known weekend getaway for Bengaluru people, has become a tourism hub, according to an IE report.

The Central Public Works Department has invited bids for construction of office building for Income Tax Department on EPC basis at No 4, 5 and 6 Infantry Road in Bengaluru, Karnataka, along with a number of allied works. The estimated value of the project is Rs. 185.82 crore, with a completion period of 28 months.

Karnataka would soon set up a fruit processing cluster at Bhairapattana near Ramanagara town with Rs 500 crore investment under PPP model. The cluster would initially have five units to process horticulture produce from across the state. The state has asked the Centre for a Rs. 10 crore grant under its Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.

Over 55 per cent of the work on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Economic Corridor have been completed and the project will be dedicated to the nation in February 2022.The cost is estimated at Rs. 7,400 crore and works are underway in two packages — Bengaluru to Nidaghatta in Maddur taluk and Nidaghatta to Mysuru.

The state government will set up a film city near Mysuru. In the 2020-21 budget, the state had announced that the project would be set up in Bengaluru at a cost of Rs. 500 crore.

The government of Karnataka has proposed a toy cluster in Koppala, about 351 km from Bengaluru, which it expects will attract over Rs 5,000 crore in investments. With the eco-system to support the toy cluster in place, the 400-acre SEZ will have top-class infrastructure and generate 40,000 jobs in five years.

The state government plans to set up an amusement park near Manchanabele Dam in Ramanagara district. The irrigation department has proposed to develop the land close to the picturesque dam, which is about 37 km from Bengaluru, as a tourism hub on a public private partnership model.

Government of Karnataka plans to modernize the Vijayanagara Channel irrigation systems by upgrading headworks and about 442-km of main, distributaries and minor canals.
