According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation PIB release, as on date, around 40.65 lakh houses have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), out of which 18.47 lakh houses have been grounded while 3.5 lakh houses have been completed.

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pravin Kumar has recently assured that all the urban development projects which are pending under JNNURM would be completed by July, 2016.

The Government of India has launched ‘Housing for All by 2022’’ Mission. It’s a National Mission for Urban Housing.

The authority is implementing the widening of the 42-km Outer Ring Road (ORR) into a six-lane motorway under JnNURM. The project is in delay mode. Earlier it was targeted to complete by May 2011. The revised completion date is fixed at March 2015.

Bagged an EPC order from the Jharkhand Drinking Water and Sanitation Department for the Ranchi Water Supply Scheme under JNNURM. The scope of the contract involves the design and construction of a 172 MLD intake well with a pump house, a 114 MLD water treatment plant and a 217 km of rising mains and distribution pipelines including associated electromechanical works.

The West Bengal government is keen to boost waterways especially the Ganga-Hooghly waterway or the National Waterway I. The state government has outlined a plan to develop/augment jetties, approach-ways to jetties and buying vessels and barges. The state government is also in the process of preparing the detailed project report (DPR). The waterway project would require funds from the Centre under scheme such as JNNURM scheme.

Plans to construct sewage and sewage treatment plant for South East Zone in Amritsar under JnNURM Scheme. The completion is targeted in 36 months. Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under Urban Infrastructure Governance has recently approved this project.

Plans to set up solid waste management plant at Baiguinim under JnNURM. The facility is planned on a 1.10 lakh sq m plot and a 500-metre buffer zone will also be created around the plant, which will take care of both composting of biodegradable waste and recycling of plastics. The ministry of urban development has sanctioned Rs 72 crore recently.

Plans water recycling and reuse project by providing 60 mld secondary and tertiary treatment plant near Bhavans College in Ahmedabad under JnNURM scheme. The completion is targeted in 24 months. Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under Urban Infrastructure Governance has recently approved this project.
