The state government has identified 1,000 acre land for a mega textile parks in Kalaburagi and Vijayapura, and also submitted a proposal to the Union government

The government has issued a notification for setting up seven mega textile parks under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM-MITRA) scheme at a total outlay of Rs. 4,445 crore. These will be set up at greenfield/brownfield sites located in different willing states.

Textiles Minister Smriti Zubin Irani says seven mega textile parks will be set up in next three years, enabling the textile industry to become globally competitive, attract large investment and boost employment generation. This will be aided by the Production Linked Investment Scheme of Rs. 10,683 crore over a five-year period.
