VISL is the special purpose vehicle (SPV) created to implement the proposed Vizhinjam International Deepwater Seaport. VISL had recently received bids from 16 infrastructure companies for the requirement of independent engineer (IE) for this project.

Independent engineers services are sought to provide specified services and perform functions listed in the concession agreement signed with Adani Vizhinjam Port Ltd for the development of Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport project.

Plans to set up a deepwater multipurpose port project near Kovalam with a capacity of 18,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). The project will be completed in 3 phases. The work has not yet started.

The Government of Kerala has decided to accept the bid submitted by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd for the construction and operation of the Vizhinjam container transshipment port on PPP model. The phase-I of this project would cost Rs 7,525 crore.
