The centre, in a joint venture with the Carnoustie Group, is gearing up to launch a Rs. 100 crore luxury ayurvedic and ancient Indian wellness centre in the outskirts of Kolkata this December. The project Spread over 40,000 sq ft, the wellness centre will have 100 luxury villas.

Aster DM Healthcare is betting big on expanding its presence In India and will invest around Rs. 235 crore to add 411 beds in the country in the next 18 months to its existing capacity of 3,757 beds. The additions will be Kolhapur Bengaluru and Kottakkal.

Paras Healthcare is foraying in Uttar Pradesh with its biggest tertiary care multi-speciality hospital in Kanpur. The new hospital, to be called Paras Yash Kothari Hospital, will have over 400 beds and may commence operations next year. With this, Paras Healthcare will have expanded its presence to six states.

RUDA has approved the construction plan of the main hospital building of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) at Pipaliya Village on the Jamnagar Road. The authority had earlier approved the plans for 24 adjunct buildings of AIIMS Rajkot. With this, all construction plans for the hospital complex have been approved.

Drug major Lupin will enter the digital healthcare space in India, aiming to provide a digital therapeutics platform for doctors and patients. The company said it has recently incorporated a new entity named Lupin Digital Health Ltd as a wholly owned subsidiary, which will undertake this.

West Asia-based ART Fertility Clinics, owned by Gulf Capital, will invest Rs. 250 crore to set up 18 clinics across India. The company, which currently operates in Delhi, Gurugram and Ahmedabad, would set up the clinics in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai by August-September. The rest would come up in other cities next year.

The company plans to set up a manufacturing plant to produce oxygen concentrators in Tamil Nadu. The hitch is the availability of raw material zeolite, a petrochemical product which has to be imported. The Union government is in the process of importing zeolite from different parts of the world.

The company has commissioned an oxygen plant at its factory in Ramasamy Raja Nagar in Virudhunagar district of South Tamil Nadu, which is dedicated to the supply of medical oxygen to the government hospitals in Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Aruppukottai and Sathur. The plant a cost Rs. 50 lakh.

DRDO is planning to set up an oxygen generation plant on the Government General Hospital premises in Anantapur soon. The state-owned defence major recently set up two oxygen plants on the AIIMS premises in New Delhi that have been operationalised. DRDO plans to set up similar plants at other locations too.
