Home Textiles major Welspun Group completed a Rs 2,000 crore investment in Telangana with the launch of an advanced textile facility in Chandanvelly. It also committed another Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 crore investment in the state over the next five years.

The Industries Department has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Welspun Group for setting up a new steel plant and iron pipes project at a cost of Rs. 1,250 crore in Kutch district. It is projected to provide jobs to 2,000 people.

The foundation stone has been laid for Welspun Textile Industry and also the newly established Welspun Flooring Company at the upcoming Chandanavalli Industrial Park. The company has set up an integrated flooring solutions plant with an investment of Rs 1,114 crore and textile manufacturing unit at Rs 400 crore.
