Jun 05, 2022 Videotex to invest Rs 100 crore in Greater Noida Videotex announced its plans to invest Rs 100 crore over the next two years towards setting up a new LED TV smart manufacturing facility in Greater Noida. With this investment, the company is also planning to upgrade its existing capacity in Greater Noida to 1.4 million TVs and the new capacity to 1.8 million TVs, to achieve a combined production capacity of 3.2 million units a year.
May 20, 2022 Panasonic sets up unit in Sri City Panasonic Life Solutions India has opened a new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The company will be investing Rs 600 crore in two phases, of which it has invested Rs 300 crore in the first phase. The unit will be the company’s first electrical equipment manufacturing base in the South and seventh in India.
May 05, 2022 BEL awarded two defence contracts worth Rs 3,102 crore The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed two contracts worth Rs 3,102 crore with the Bengaluru and Hyderabad units of the Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), in New Delhi. The MoD and the BEL-Bengaluru concluded the contract for the supply of Advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) suite for fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force. The overall cost is estimated to be Rs 1,993 crore, as per a statement from BEL. According to the public sector undertaking, the supply of advanced EW systems would significantly enhance the battle-survivability of the fighter aircraft while undertaking operational missions against adversaries’ ground-based as well as airborne fire control and surveillance radars. The EW suite has been indigenously designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The MoD signed the contract with the BEL-Hyderabad for Instrumented Electronic Warfare Range (IEWR) for the Air Force. The contract was a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of the IAF to prepare for future warfare. The overall cost of the contract would be Rs 1,109 crore.

Vedanta Group firms have applied for setting up semiconductor and display manufacturing units in the country under the governments incentive scheme. They were assessing the place and the ecosystem for their proposed semiconductor unit.
Mar 20, 2022 BEL awarded Rs 1,075 cr T-90 tank retro contract The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract for Rs 1,075 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the retro-modification of Commander Sight of Battle Tanks-T-90. The retro-modification will be carried out in 957 T-90 tanks of the Indian Army. As per the defence ministry, the successful indigenous development of thermal imager based Commander Sight will provide further fillip to indigenous R and D and defence manufacturing.
