The union environment ministry has accordingly made it easier for thermal power plants to change the source of coal from imported to domestic – a procedure that so far involved seeking an amendment in the environment clearance of such plants.

Jun 20, 2020 WCL Targets 100 MT Coal Production by FY27 Coal India’s arm Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) has set an ambitious target of 100 million tonnes (MT) production by 2026-27 and plans to set up 20 more mines by 2024. WCL will see Rs. 5,300 crore capital investment.
