The Government of Telangana is keen to build a greenfield airport in Kothagudem spread over 1,500 acre land in Khammam district. Land acquisition process has started. Ministry of Civil Aviation final clearance can pave the way for this project

A greenfield airport is planned near Bhiwadi in Alwar district, Rajasthan. Site clearance was accorded subject to certain conditions, was given in November 2015. Detailed Project Report (DPR) would lead to further development once the economic viability is established.

The Centre has agreed to fund the upgradation of seven airports in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The ministry of civil aviation has agreed to fund a Rs 350-crore upgrade of airports in the state.

As the country gears up under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards strengthening the economy and making India one of the biggest trading and tourist hub of the world. The Civil Aviation Policy 2016 was recently announced.

Government of India has granted in-principle approval for setting up of 14 Greenfield airports namely, Mopa in Goa; Navi Mumbai, Shirdi and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra; Shimoga, Gulbarga,Hassan and Bijapur in Karnataka; Kannur in Kerala; Pakyong in Sikkim; Datia/Gwalior (Cargo) in Madhya Pradesh; Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh; Karaikal in Puducherry; and Dholera in Gujarat.

The construction of Shirdi Airport by Maharashtra Airport Development Company Limited (MADC), is on.

Plans to construct an international airport in Kushinagar district on a public private partnership (PPP) model spread over 569-hectares land. The state government has cleared the first instalment of Rs 80 crore for constructing the runway.

Plans to develop new international airport at Mopa village in Goa. The project will be taken up in four phases targeting annual passenger capacity of 13.1 million passengers. Environment clearance is accorded to this project recently.

Plans to construct greenfield airport at Mopa in Goa in public-private partnership (PPP) mode. The work is expected to commence in November 2016. The companies like GMR, GVK, Voluptas Developers and Essel Infra are in the fray for this project. The airport construction will be executed in four phases. On completion the airport will have capacity to handle 13.5 million passengers.
