The recently constituted Cotton Board has sought Rs 35-crore loan from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) for purchase of cotton meant for textile mills in the State. A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, Principal Secretary, Industries, who heads the Board told that the Board was constituted to ensure transparent purchase of raw material for spinning mills at the most advantageous price.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has signed a memorandum with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for the supply of 1.72 lakh cotton khadi durries every year for the Central Armed Police Forces. The agreement has been signed for one year and will be renewed thereafter. The total value of 1.72 lakh durries is Rs. 8.74 crore.

Plans to foray into electric vehicle battery manufacturing. As part of this plan, the company had acquired a majority stake of 67% in Ampere Vehicles last year. Ampere manufactures electric scooters. The company had earmarked ?150 crore to be spent on Ampere over the next three years.
