Bagged and order from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for a smart city project in Pune. Tech Mahindra will provide ICT (Information and Communication Technology) infrastructure, including smart water, smart sewerage, smart traffic, etc. The project will be executed in one year, with operations and maintenance for 5 years. The work has started recently.

Salem Municipal Corporation (SMC) has installed solar panels on its building in all four zones under the smart city project. These panels would generate 40,067.50 units of electricity a month and approximately 1.46 crore units a year.

As part of the Pimpri Chinchwad Smart City project, the SPV board has approved the plan to install 3,300 CCTV cameras, in Pimpri-Chinchwad region at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore.

Under the Kakinada Smart City project, the underground power cable installation work is being taken up from NTR Statue at Sarpavaram Junction to GMC Balyogi Centre.

The city of Solapur has recently inaugurated a slew of projects and is one of the Six cities which has not performed well in terms of spending the budget for Smart City projects.

The projects worth nearly Rs 16,350 crore out of the total Rs 1 lakh crore have been tendered under public-private partnership mode under the Smart City Mission. The cities are going ahead trying to attract private investment under the Smart City Project.
