The Karnataka government has approved 60 industrial projects worth Rs 2,465.94 crore that would generate jobs for over 8,575 people in the State. The 131st State-level single-window clearance committee (SLSWCC) meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries Murugesh R Nirani on Saturday cleared the projects.

In a big boost for industrial growth in Mysuru, the Government has come forward to set up a mega Industrial Zone in the outskirts of the city. As a first step in this regard, Industries Minister has directed the concerned officials to identify 1,000 acre of land for the project.

A 3,200-acre industrial park would be set up in Karnatakas Kolar after the huge piece of land was acquired from the defunct state-run Bharat Gold Mines Ltd (BGML). The state mines and geology department will survey the land in six months to ensure that it no longer contains natural resources, particularly gold.

Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL) has a JV with the promoters of Universal Builders in KIADB Hardware Park, Bagalur, North Bengaluru. This will be a modern affordable housing project of approximately 0.28 million sq m across 22 acres. The site is on the main State Highway 104.

KIADB plans to develop industrial park at Kallabella and Badankuppe villages of Chamarajanagar district.

Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) plans to develop industrial park spread over 1460 acre of land in Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka. The Centre has given environmental clearance for the project. The industrial park is likely to come up in Kallabella and Badankuppe villages of Chamarajanagar district at a cost of Rs 91 crore.

Swedish truck and bus maker company plans to double its production capacity and invest in its Indian operations.

KIADB is developing an industrial area on the outskirts of Chamarajanagar on 1,600 acre of land. The first industrial layout will be inaugurated soon. Tendering process for road construction and underground tanks are completed.

Setting up an IT SEZ and an IT park in the non-SEZ areas of KIADB Industrial Estate, off Shimoga-Bhadravathi highway in Shimoga. The Phase-I construction is completed.
