The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has decided to procure 198 body scanners for 63 airports, which will replace existing door frame metal detectors and hand-held scanners. The process to procure the body scanners started earlier this year before the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Over 1.6 million positive cases and around hundred thousand deaths have been reported world over, and the number seems to be only growing (at 2.68 percent on a daily basis), as per World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Covid-19 dashboard.

The Tamil Nadu government has announced the setting up of an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Park in the state, with an investment of around Rs. 770 crore, amidst the coronavirus outbreak. The park will be set up on around 650 acres land in Cheyyar in Thiruvannamalai district.
