Under the PM Mega Integrated Textiles and Apparel (PM Mitra) scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government signed an MoU with the Government of India at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow for the establishment of 1,000-acres-wide textile parks in Lucknow and Hardoi districts

Home Textiles major Welspun Group completed a Rs 2,000 crore investment in Telangana with the launch of an advanced textile facility in Chandanvelly. It also committed another Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 crore investment in the state over the next five years.

The recently constituted Cotton Board has sought Rs 35-crore loan from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) for purchase of cotton meant for textile mills in the State. A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, Principal Secretary, Industries, who heads the Board told that the Board was constituted to ensure transparent purchase of raw material for spinning mills at the most advantageous price.

The ministry of textiles has cleared 15 research and development projects worth Rs 32.25 crore across key strategic areas such as speciality fibres, protective textiles, high-performance textiles, geotextiles, medical textiles, sustainable textiles, and textiles for building materials.

Under the National Technical Textiles Mission, so far 74 research projects of value of Rs 232 crore in the areas of speciality fibres and technical textiles by premier Research Institutes and Research Organisations of the country in association with industry as partners undertaking research projects have been approved.

Anmol Gagan Mann, Investment Promotion Minister, Punjab, said that the state has successfully secured investments of more than Rs 3,200 crore in textiles, technical textiles and apparel sectors in the last nine months.

Dysin Group has set up a new plant for specialty polymer manufacturing under the name of Dysin- Chem Industries at Gazipur.

On receiving proposals from 17 States to set up mega textile park under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme. The Ministry of Textiles has said that availability of master real estate developer will be important for approval.

The Tamil Nadu government will soon establish a mega textile park and it is likely to come up in Virudhunagar, minister for handlooms and textiles R Gandhi announced in the state assembly.
