Adani Ports won the right to develop a dry bulk terminal with a cargo handling capacity of 14.112 mmtpa at Tuna Tekra, Kandla Port in February 2012 under a concession agreement with Kandla Port trust.
May 15, 2014 Development of Dharma Port DPCL is a joint venture of Tata and L&T. DPCL is implementing the Dhamra port development project. The port has sought 745 acre of land to facilitate its second phase expansion. The Government of Odisha has given in-principle nod to allot land. The expansion project includes increasing its berth strength from 2 to 13 and upgrade cargo handling capacity four-fold from 25 to 100 MTPA in 5 years.
Feb 15, 2014 Rail cargo handling capacity at Ennore Port The rail cargo handling capacity at Ennore Port has quadrupled to 24 million tonnes a year with the commissioning of additional rail siding costing Rs 51 crore. The connectivity with the rest of the rail network in the South and North have also improved with this railway siding commissioning. Rail link is likely to be strengthened further to improve the port’s evacuation and storage capacity.The port is likely to handle 24 rakes of bulk cargo by rail instead of 6 rakes a day earlier. It is estimated that by 2017, the port capacity is likely to touch 67 million tonne of cargo annually.
