A solar power plant of 40 MW capacity power will be installed at the Hirakud Dam Reservoir in Odishas Sambalpur district by the Solar Energy Corporation of India, which is under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Floating panels, mounted on a structure that floats on a water body, will be installed to generate power.

AGEL has signed a pact with state-run Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 4667 MW of green energy. The agreement is part of a manufacturing-linked solar tender of 8,000 MW awarded to AGEL by SECI in June 2020, which set a record for being the worlds largest solar development tender ever awarded.

MCL will set up a 50 MW solar power plant in Odishas Sambalpur district at a cost of Rs. 301.92 crore as part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2024. This project will reduce carbon dioxide emission by 91,020 tonnes per annum and carbon offsets of around 24,824 tonnes per annum, according to the public sector unit.

AIIMS Jammu, being established in Vijaypur in Samba district, is likely to be fully operational by December 2022. The project was sanctioned under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) with an estimated cost of Rs. 2,000 crore, to provide super-speciality diagnosis services and world-class treatment.

The firm has bagged an order for DeNOx (combustion modifications) Package for the 2x77 MW & 1x80 MW wall fired boilers at Gummidipoondi, Tamil Nadu from OPG Power Generation. This project is aimed at reducing NOx in order to make the plant compliant with recent emission norms. The consultant for this project is Aquatherm.

The firm plans to set up grain-based distillery units and bottling plants at Bamra in Sambalpur. The state-level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) approved the project recently

Around 115 villages under Rairakhol block will get piped water supply through a mega rural drinking water project by December 2021. A 6 MLD water treatment plant will be set up at Kadaligarh in the block. Besides, 11 overhead tanks will be constructed. Water will be drawn from river Mahanadi at Kiakata in bordering Angul district.
