State-owned SAIL has supplied over 9,000 tonnes of steel for the all-weather Atal Tunnel which reduces the distance between Manali and Leh by 46 km and travel time by four to five hours. The 9.02 km tunnel, the longest highway tunnel in the world, connects Manali to Lahaul-Spiti valley.

BBMB plans to set up 2x20 MW hydel power plant at Pandoh-Baggi tunnel, and has entered into an MoU with the Himachal Pradesh government. The feasibility study and survey is going on. Tender will be invited by Feb 2020.

The construction of 14.2 km Zojila tunnel is planned, connecting Srinagar with Leh in Jammu and Kashmir. The project was earlier awarded to IL&FS and the contract was later scrapped. The estimated revised cost of the project is Rs 8,400 crore.

Plans to assign the construction of Tunnel T1 between Km 0.371 to 4.574 and T2 between Km 4.831 to Km 5.698 on Sivok West Bengal to Rangpo Sikkim New Single line BG Railway Line Project.
