Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has successfully commissioned 250 MW unit based on eco-friendly Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) technology, using low quality coal (lignite) as the primary fuel at Bhavnagar Energy Company Ltd (BECL)’s thermal power project, located at Padva village in Bhavnagar District of Gujarat.

BECL is coming up with 500 MW Lignite based power project. GIPCL will invest 26%, GMDC will invest 26%, GSIL will invest 18%, GPCL will invest 9%, GACL will invest 7%, GNFC will invest 7% and GSFC will invest 7% in the proposed power project.
