The state government is setting up an AYUSH University in Gorakhpur which would be functional from next year. The foundation stone will be laid in the second fortnight of January 2021. All the pre-foundation procedures are being completed without delay so that construction work can start immediately.

IHCL had signed a three-hotel deal with Ambuja Neotia Group as it seeks to make deeper inroads into eastern India. The new projects include two in Kolkata and one in Patna. The group has outlined an investment of Rs. 800 crore for the project. IHCL already has a partnership with the Ambuja Neotia Group for two other hotels.

APIIC is in the process of setting up five large multi-product industrial parks in the state. These parks will come up in three industrial corridors spread over 42,313 acre, with funding from the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), a Central government aided organisation.

A port has been proposed in around 3,200 acres of land at Chevuru, Ravuru, as there are huge vacant lands in the Kavali division. Officials have identified around 6,500 acres of land at Chennayapalem, Anemadugu, Thummalapenta, and other villages, close to the proposed port at Ramayapatnam.

Indore has issued letter of intent to all four investors after receiving part payment for the industrial plots allotted. These investors have bought five plots at SIP. Capital Foods Pvt Ltd, Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Trinity Industries and AS Engineering Solutions have booked industrial plots at SIP.

Plans to invest Rs. 730 crore to set up a 34,000-tonne extrusion plant at Silvassa. The new plant will service the fast-growing market for extruded aluminium products in the western and southern regions. Commercial production at the plant is expected to start in 24 months.

Proposes to set up an electric vehicle and future mobility park with a skill development centre. It will also facilitate the setting up on manufacturing industries within the park in Thathanur in Tiruppur district with a proposed investment of Rs 2,500 crores and an employment potential of 1000 people.

Voltas, the room air conditioner and commercial refrigeration products major, proposes to set up a manufacturing facility of AC and commercial refrigeration products in Vedal village, Kanchipuram district. The proposed investment in this project, with an employment potential of 2,000 persons, is about Rs. 1,001 crore.

The district administration has urged MahaMetro and PMC officials to look into the option of having a Metro Neo corridor along the Swargate-Katraj BRTS route aligning with the city bus services. Metro Neo is a rail-guided urban transport system with rubber-tyred electric coaches powered by an overhead traction system running on elevated or at-grade sections.
