The Union budget is likely to propose an industrial area development scheme focused on micro, small and medium enterprises with funds to not only expand and upgrade existing industrial areas with common infrastructure but also develop new industrial areas.

Multiplex chain PVR aims to operate 1,000 screens by the end of FY24 through an addition of 100 screens in the next 15 months. This will involve an investment of around Rs 300 crore. The company achieved the milestone of 900 screens with the opening of three new multiplexes in Jaipur, Bengaluru and Gurugram, adding 19 screens this month

Fresh or new investments of Rs 6,200 crore have been made by companies in the petroleum sector in Rajasthan. In all, investments of over Rs 22,838 crore are being made by four companies in a phased manner. Of this, work on over Rs 6,200 crore has started.

India will by May invite bids for subsidies for setting up green-hydrogen manufacturing and utilisation hubs, fertiliser and steel plants based on the fuel, and factories for making electrolysers. The bidding process is part of a first phase of a $2 billion incentive plan to boost use of green hydrogen to cut emissions and make India a major exporter in the field.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones of a ship repair facility at Pandu in Guwahati and the connecting road to Pandu Port, according to an official statement. The statement further said major initiatives worth more than Rs 1,016 crore planned for revamp of inland waterways in Assam till 2024-25.

The Uttar Pradesh government has given in-principle approval for 17 proposed feeder-bus routes from Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) stations in Ghaziabad. Officials of the regional transport department said they will now take up the proposal and start the routes before the 17 km RRTS section becomes operational in March.
