Oct 20, 2020 New Centres for Skilling and Technical Support CIPET, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, will be shortly establish two new centres for skilling and technical support (CSTS) at Bhagalpur (Bihar) and Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh). CIPET currently has 43 operational centres and 9 more are in the process of establishment across the country.
Oct 05, 2020 Methanol Plant at Trombay started A PSU under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, RCF has started its methanol plant at Trombay unit in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with a capacity to produce 242 tonne of methanol per day. RCF has been importing methanol for internal consumption and for trading. With its own methanol production, it will no longer be dependent on imports.

The gas-based plant has the capacity to produce 1.27 million tonnes of urea per annum. The revised project cost is Rs. 6,175 crore as against the original Rs. 5,254 crore.
Jul 20, 2020 Caustic Soda Plant at Dahej The subsidiary of Meghmani Organics Ltd (MOL) has completed the installation of an additional caustic soda plant of 1,28,000 TPA with a captive power plant of 36 MW at Dahej in Gujarat. The expansion will increase the capacity of the caustic soda plant to 2,94,000 MT per annum and captive power plant to 96 MW.
Jul 20, 2020 Gas based urea unit at Ramagundam RFCL, a joint venture promoted by National Fertilizers Ltd, Engineers India Ltd (EIL) and Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd (FCIL), is coming up with a gas-based urea unit of 12.7 Lakh MT per annum capacity at Ramagundam, Telengana, which should be ready for commercial production by October this year.
May 20, 2020 Thyssenkrupp Bags Order from Numaligarh Refinery The company has been awarded an order worth Rs. 300 crore by Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) for a refinery expansion mega project. Thyssenkrupp will provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the refinery located in Numaligarh in Northeastern India.

The project involved expansion of 16,500 tpa to the AAC plant, with total project cost of Rs. 35 crore. The estimated increase in annual revenue of the company from the plant will be around Rs. 65 crore.
