Tata Steel has installed a Long Pipe Conveyor at its opencast coal mines in the West Bokaro Division, the facility that will bring coal and by-products from the washeries to the Chainpur railway siding, replacing the existing ropeway transportation system.

Total Solar Distributed Generation, a division of Total, has completed a 1 MW solar project at Renault Nissan Automotive India’s manufacturing facility in Chennai. The solar system is expected to produce 2.1 GWh of clean energy while reducing 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

The work on the four-lane Qazigund-Banihal tunnel is going on in full swing and the firm expects to complete it by March-end. The 8.5 km double-tube tunnel will reduce the distance between Banihal and Qazigund by 16 km. The project was awarded by NHAI. Over Rs. 2,000 crore is being spent on this project.

Dilip Buildcon has announced the provisional completion of a proiect for four-laning of the Byrapura-Challakere section of NH-150 A in Karnataka on hybrid annuity mode under Bharatmala Pariyojna. The company is entitled to a bonus of Rs. 8.84 crore for early completion, 105 days prior to the scheduled completion date.

One of South India’s largest plastic recycling facility was inaugurated at JN Pharma City at Paravada, Vishakhapatnam. It is estimated that annually India generates 9.46 million tonnes of plastic waste. The new facility will up-cycle such waste into high-quality plastic granules that can be used for manufacturing plastic products and packaging.

A jetty of 20 million gallon capacity and pump house along with two drinking water treatment plants of 10MGD capacity each, constructed by KMDA, have been inaugurated. A 112-km pipeline from the treatment plant will supply purified water across Howrah and two 4.5 km pipelines will bring in the untreated water.

The cement maker, with a strong presence in the northeast, is expanding into eastern India with ongoing capacity expansion at Siliguri, West Bengal. The company is already present in the region through leased grinding units of 0.6 MT capacity. The new grinding unit at Siliguri will replace supply from the leased units.

The power PSU’s joint venture EESL plans to install at least 500 more electric vehicle charging stations in the country during fiscal 2020-21. With the supply resumed from the manufacturers and the opening up of transport, EESL has also completed an additional procurement of 1020 chargers.

The foundation for a 100-bed Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) hospital has been laid in East Godavari. The existing building of a paper mill would be demolished for the construction of the multi-specialty hospital, for which Rs. 97.98 crore had been sanctioned. It is expected to be completed within two years.
