Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) plans to construct a metro route to Bengaluru airport covering 55-km. The route will originate at Central Silk Board and reach the airport halting at 28 stations in between. The metro route will commence operations by 2023. Around 13 stations will come up between Central Silk Board and K.R. Puram as part of Phase-IIA and 17 stations between K.R. Puram and Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) via Hebbal as part of Phase-IIB.
