Punjab Government approves Bio-CNG project

The Government of Punjab has approved a bio-CNG project at an estimated cost of Rs 71.68 crore. The project will utilise around one lakh tonne of paddy straw per annum and produce 33.23 tonne of bio-CNG per day. Germany based Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG - Indian subsidiary, Verbio India Pvt Ltd is setting up this project at village Bhutal Kalan of Lehragaga tehsil, district Sangrur, with 100 per cent foreign direct investment. In addition, the bio-CNG plant would produce 1.44 lakh tonnes of bio-manure annually.
