The National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC) is implementing ambitious Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project. The bullet train project would cover a distance of 508.90-km from Mumbai - Sabarmati via Ahmedabad. The project would have 487-km of elevated corridor while 22-km would be underground (including under Sea tunnel to cross Thane creek). About 17.5 metre of land will be acquired throughout the route of the elevated corridor which includes 13 metre of land for railway track and 4 metre for right of way. The elevated corridor will be constructed about 7 metre above the ground level. The piers of the corridor would occupy space in the ground at regular intervals. All the stations are on elevated levels except the terminating station in Mumbai. The farmers and environment activists are protesting over the lack of time and clarity in the discussions. They are demanding to see the report of the Social Impact Assessment (SIA).
