Maharashtra Chief Minister is hopeful to construct one terminal building and a runway of the Navi Mumbai international airport by the end of 2019. City Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) is the nodal agency and have assigned the development to GVK Group. The Navi Mumbai airport will be developed in two phases with two parallel runways. The terminal building will have the capacity to handle 5 million passengers. The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 16,700-crore.
