Tell us about your company, objectives and core competencies?
Having established in 1994 in Hyderabad, Bevcon Wayors over the last two decades has evolved into a leading Bulk Material Handling Solution provider with pan India presence. We provide concept to commissioning solutions, manufacture equipment and execute turnkey / EPC projects for all material handling applications for all sectors. The journey of Bevcon over the last two decades has been driven with passion to explore, innovate and serve the industry with one motto - “Customer for Life”. A dedicated team of engineers and managers have enabled Bevcon to grow from strength to strength.

Bevcon Product portfolio, which includes equipment for feeding, crushing, screening, speciality / innovative conveying system and pneumatic conveying system combined with strong EPC project implementation capabilities, has established Bevcon as a reliable Brand in The Bulk Material Handling industry.

Bevcon has a professional management structure in place, lead by senior management personnel like CMO, COO, CFO and a lot of de-centralization of the functions is done to focus and improve operational efficiency across the organization.

Bevcon Corporate Office & Manufacturing Unit located in IDA, Cherlapally, Hyderabad is accredited with Integrated Management System consists of ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001:2004 & OSHAS 18001:2007. It is spread over 25,000 square feet with all necessary infrastructure. It is the manufacturing hub for Crushers, Screens Feeders and other Material Handling Equipment.

As part of its expansion, Bevcon’s new manufacturing facility is slated to launch at the outskirts of Hyderabad, which will cater to the needs of heavy fabrication and engineering Products.

Be’RolleX, an associate company of Bevcon is located at Sricity, Andhra Pradesh, India.  It is a fully automated manufacturing plant spread over 1,00,000 square feet to manufacture extensive range of belt conveyor Idlers and Pulleys as per Indian and international standards. Be’RolleX has unique and state of the art machinery which includes automated robotics to ensure reliability and consistency of quality in Idlers and Pulleys manufacturing.

Bevcon in addition to their office at Hyderabad has a pan Indian presence with offices located at New Delhi, Kolkata and Pune with teams consisting of sales and service personnel to deliver prompt services to the satisfaction of its clients. What level of customization do you offer in case of conveyor solutions? How far you are active on the innovation and R&D front?

In the current dynamic world “Innovation” plays a very crucial role. Business sustainability totally depends on how technological innovations are taking place within the organizations to meet customer requirements as well as the market. All our current technological Innovations are 100% in-sync with the market.

However, Bevcon strongly believes in “Value Innovation” which has been the life line for organization sustainable growth and gives immense confidence to the customer in terms of providing most cost effective and reliable solutions. Innovation is most crucial in three areas i.e. people, processes and technology, which are crucial differentiators for our strong collaborative work culture which in turn breeds innovativeness across the organization. We continuously strive for innovation in all these three domains for every project we do, source of innovation being the “challenges of the project”. Our specially formed in-house research and development group called PMG (Product Management Group) develops average 10-12 new equipment per year for the various material handling needs. The core focus of the department is the development of new products, validation of products and cost effective solutions to critical applications. The group consists of “specialists” from various domains who work collectively to get the ultimate results.

Could you share with us some of your challenging projects and prestigious clientele?
Every project is un-doubtfully a challenge in terms of technology, criticality of execution or from time lines aspect.

Since two decades we have been associating with different captive / co-gen power projects for different capacities in different sector of industries. We have been associated and providing robust, reliable & efficient raw material handling systems to almost all reputed cement & Steel companies of India. Currently various Bulk Material & Raw Material handling projects are under execution and below are few Innovative and first-of-its-kind material handling and raw material handling systems provided to Power, Cement, Steel and other sectors:

  • Executed in record time 1.4 km pipe conveyor for handling 3150TPH limestone from Mine to Process plant at M/s. Shree Cement.
  • Commissioned Steep Angle Sidewall Conveyor in one of the cement plant in India for conveying 1650TPH clinker from wagon unloading to silo storage at JK Cement, which is first-of its-kind installation in Indian cement industry this revolutionary concept is going to change the current practices adopted in Indian Cement Industry. 
  • Commissioned high capacity& long distance Pneumatic Conveying system for 100TPH Fly Ash from power plant to cement mill at M/s. Ultratech Cement, this will enable cost effective conveying of fly ash fulfilling 100% environmental needs.
  • Commissioned dense Phase Pneumatic conveying system for conveying 2 X 60TPH Fly Ash over 1.3km conveying distance from captive power plant ash silo to cement mill silo at M/s. Orient Cement.
  • Executed Asia’s largest Steep Angle Conveyor for handling 2 X 500TPH Pet Coke from Wagon unloading area to storage silo at M/s. TATA Steel.
  • Associated with World’s 1st DRI plant with Syn Gas from Coal Gasification plant at JSPL by executing 2500TPH Iron Ore, Limestone, Iron Ore Pallets, Dolomite and DRI Char handling system.
  • Executed first-of its-kind Barge Loading System for handling 1200TPH Sulphur with twin Bulk Feeder Units at reliance oil refineries in port.
  • Executing one of the highest conveying capacities of 11000TPH Iron Ore conveying system from wagon unloading area to ship loading system at JSW.
  • Executing first-of-its-kind 2500TPHcoal conveying system for 2 X 660MW Super Critical Thermal Power Plant at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd., Suratgarh from BHEL.
  • 1320TPHcoal handling system for 1  X 800 MW Kothagudem TPS, Stage-VII, Unit-12at Kothagudem, Khammam Dist., Telangana from BHEL (Under Execution)
  • Executing 2300TPHcoal conveying system for 2 X 660MW Super Critical Thermal Power Plant at Ennore, Chennai, Tamil Nadu from BHEL.
  • Commissioned 800TPH Radial Coal Stacker  with 70,000 Tons Stockpile Capacity At IMFA

What can be the market size of bulk material handling equipment/systems industry in India? What's your market share?
Current Material Handling market in India is really unpredictable, Ambiguous, Uncertain not able to define clear strategies to meet day to day uncertain challenges.

Indian Material Handling Industry is going through tough challenges due to poor infrastructure, real-estate growth across India for last 3 years. Delayed project clearances related to mining, environmental put the most of the upcoming projects on hold in addition to that tight cash flows in the market totally slow down the industry growth. However for the last one year of new government initiatives there is optimism across about industry revival- we are expecting moderate 10-15 % CAGR in the bulk material industry in coming future.

Material handling sector is back bone for infrastructure growth. In next FY we expect major business opportunities going to emerge in this segment which will last at least for next 3-4 years minimum but we are realistic in our optimism and expected to do good business and going to achieve at least Rs 200 crore turn over by focusing more on medium range material handling projects.

Could you comment on the impact of GST on the business at large?
Bulk industry is still scrambling with the others and the performance is been negligible. The industry having favorable demographic and geographic position as an advantage, it has not been able to capitalize when compared to other industries. A complex tax structure, inadequate infrastructure, and bureaucracy diminishing its capability to perform well on a global scale engulf various sectors in India. As per the sources, the manufacturing industry in India has been close to stagnant.

However, the manufacturing sector might be revived under the focused efforts of government and by implementation. For India, becoming a manufacturing hub will need various strategic reformations to simplify the existing system in the country. One of the much-publicized proposed reform “make in India” scheme initiative taken by the government is aligning with the implementation of the GST.

Material handling in any country is a major economic driver for the developing economies across the globe. For India, it is no less.

Going forward, where do you see Bevcon Wayors in the next five years?
Bevcon has been an influential entity for more than two decade in conventional material handling domain and now it's time to 'challenge the consistency and current status quo' and move to the bigger league of business, which is necessary for the organization to sustain in a volatile era with situations constantly changing.
