Ltd shares his view with Sandeep Sharma about his company, core competencies, contribution in the Power Infrastructure & Renewable Energy space, business generated, growth achieved and projects bagged in the last financial year, projects handled under Rural Electrification, Power Distribution and Transmission segment, solar business, latest technology trend and innovation in the electrical and electronics segment, impact of GST implementation and future prospects.
Tell us in brief about your organization, objectives and core competencies?

Power Infrastructure & Renewable Energy Vertical is a separate line of Business in Godrej Electricals and Electronics Division, which is one of the business vertical in Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co Ltd. We undertake large size turnkey projects (EPC) in Power Generation (Solar), Transmission & Distribution segment. Our Objective is to provide one stop EPC solution under a single rooftop for Generation, Transmission & Distribution. Over the years, we have developed our competencies to deliver complex Transmission (Substation and Line) and Distribution projects to the tune of 500Cr. We have also enhanced our capabilities in ground mounted and rooftop solar projects.
Could you tell us about your company's contribution in the Power Infrastructure & Renewable Energy space?
We began our journey with power distribution projects in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh states and today we are operating across the country in over 11 states. We have delivered more than 2000 Cr of projects over the past 5 years in Power Infrastructure & Renewable Energy Projects. As part of developing the power infrastructure at remote villages, we have provided the electrical connection to more than 2 lakh households (End mile BPL connections) in remote areas of UP, Bihar, Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh etc. We are also an established player in the EHV segment & successfully completed many EHV Sub-station & Transmission projects up to 400 KV & in Renewable space; we have delivered projects in both Roof top and Ground Mounted Projects to the tune of 4MW.
How was the last financial year in terms of business generated, growth achieved and projects bagged?
We have generated revenue of Rs 400 Cr in last Financial Year with the growth of 6%. We have bagged projects worth Rs 1100 Cr in last FY which includes Rs 530 Cr Rural Electrification Project under the DDUGJY scheme for NTPC, Rs 160 Cr Projects for Power Grid for 400kV Substations and 220kV GIS for WBSETCL.
Could you share with us details about your role in various Rural Electrification projects?
We have been associated with rural electrification projects since last 10 years and started with projects that were part of the Tenth Five-Year Plan (2002-07). We have successfully completed the projects and established infrastructure in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and provided electrical connections to more than 2 lakh families. At present, we are doing rural electrification projects worth Rs.1200 crore in Orissa and Bihar states under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).
Which are the top projects handled by your company in the Power Distribution and Transmission Segment?
In Power Distribution Segment, we have done three rural electrification projects in difficult parts of Uttar Pradesh, namely Pratapgarh, Deoria and Siddarthnagar. Also, we have done projects under RAPDRP, which is urban modernization project in 28 towns of North Bihar. In Transmission Segment, we have commissioned GIS substations successfully for KPTCL in Karnataka & recently delivered 400kV Terminal bays in Jalandhar and Samba for Power Grid in record time of 8 months against completion period of 15 months.
