The Government of Maharashtra is keen to build new greenfield airport at Purandar airport. The airport work is most likely to start in 2019. The land is not yet acquired for the project. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje Pune International Airport is likely to serve the city of Pune, India. The airport will be located near the villages of Ambodi, Sonori, Kumbharvalan, Ekhatpur-Munjawadi, Khanwadi, Pargaon Memane, Rajewadi, Aamble, Tekwadi, Vanpuri, Udachiwadi, Singapur near Saswad and Jejuri in Purandar taluka of Pune District in the state of Maharashtra.
