According to new report released by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, USD 448 billion opportunity will be created in the renewable energy space by 2022. To meet its climate targets under the Paris Agreement, India targets 40 per cent of installed capacity through renewable sources by 2030. Due to rapid urbanisation and policy incentives for green construction, a USD 1.4-trillion opportunity is expected to be generated in the green building sector. Planned shift from from private to public transport sector is likely to provide USD 250 billion, and USD 667 billion opportunity is likely to be created in electric vehicles by 2030. Opportunity also exist in municipal solid waste management and managing urban wastewater.
